Amazon / Barnes&Noble / iBooks
This is my first read by JD Rivera and she did not disappoint. Chasing the Stars is a YA novel that is very heart-warming, yet heart-breaking.
Mackenzie Blanchard doesn’t have an easy life. When she is yet again forced to move and attend a new school her senior year she is just hoping for the best and ready to get it over with.
Hayes Morgan is Mr.Popular, he is conceded and comes from wealth. He just wants random hook-ups and is not interested in commitment at all. When he spots the new girl he is completely drawn to her.
Mackenzie and Hayes have this undeniable connection. As their unlikely friendship grows they can’t deny the chemistry that they feel when they’re around each other. Until one day the girl Hayes grew to love disappears.
After a year apart, their lives collide and both have secrets that could bring them back together or possibly destroy them for good.
This is one read that you will not be able to put down once you get started. Even though it’s a YA read, the characters deal with very adult situations. I really loved how Mackenzie and Hayes friendship grew, it brought out a side of Hayes that I couldn’t help but fall in love with. This is a great book and I recommend one-clicking. I’m looking forward to reading more from this author.
