My 5 Star Review

Meet Mr. Mysterious himself from Devil’s Lair. Trey Taylor was that one hot rocker from the Back-Up Series that had me intrigued, he seemed emotionless and complicated and you just knew there was a good reason for it.

The book begins with Trey as a teenager, before he evolved into the hard, bad boy we know. He had everything figured out, or so he thought. When his life turns into a nightmare he runs, he needs to escape from all the messed up things that has just ruined his life. All the things he is running from will haunt him, causing him to trust no one and feeling no emotions is the only way he can make it in the hell he lives in.

Fast forward ten years and his is with Devil’s Lair. It was a long hard road to get here, but the guys in the band grew on him. Even though none of them knows nothing about his real past they don’t question or judge him. They just took him right in. When the band is really starting to explode Tara, a journalist comes into his life and stirs up something in Trey thought he buried a long time ago.

When Trey’s past collides with the present it isn’t pretty. It’s heartbreaking and life altering for him. The Trey Taylor we came to know will never be the same.

After reading the first three books in the series Jack was always the main guy, but Trey was that other band member that I was always curious about. I never expected any of the things that Trey went through, yes I figured there was some type of heartbreak but damn that was some shit I couldn’t even imagine. My heart broke for him and the more I read about him the more I fell for this bad boy. When everything from his past has finally faded it will blow you away at the person he becomes, the real Trey Taylor. I don’t think you have to read the first books in the series in order to read this one but I still recommend reading them, they’re really good.
